Sawbridgeworth Cricket Club came together on Sunday 15 June to remember one of its most dedicated and much-loved members, Richard White, during the club's annual memorial fixture held in his honour.

Richard served as the club's scorer for an incredible 40 years and, remarkably, never missed a game throughout that time. His commitment, enthusiasm and unwavering support made him an integral part of the club, and his passing last year was deeply felt by everyone associated with Sawbridgeworth CC.

The memorial match brought together a wonderful mix of generations, with young players representing the future of the club taking to the field alongside former players who returned to pay tribute to Richard and celebrate his life and enormous contribution to Sawbridgeworth Cricket Club.

A particularly poignant moment came during the tea interval when a memorial bench, commissioned by the club in Richard's memory, was officially unveiled. Richard's mother and sister were invited to be the first people to sit on the bench, creating a touching tribute to a man who gave so much of his time and energy to the club he loved.

The annual fixture will continue to ensure Richard's legacy remains a cherished part of Sawbridgeworth Cricket Club for many years to come.
