Sawbo 3s secured two wins out of two with a comfortable victory over Hockerill 2nd XI at Beldams Lane. Asked to bat on what looked a treacherous pitch, Sawbo overcame the early loss of Adam MacDonald to post a daunting total of 263 for 6. This was built around a 97 run partnership between Kieran Morgan and Andrew Foster, who made 66 and 44 respectively. Some excellent late hitting by Gary Barnett (44 no), Tom McDonald (11) and Jason Hill (17 no), pushed the total well above par.
The Hockerill reply was quickly in difficulty as the opening bowlers Harry Frans (3-10) and Sammy Mirams (1-21) reduced them to 22 for 3, with Frans in particular bowling beautifully. Wickets continued to fall regularly, Romesh Paktsun picked up another 3 for after his 5 wicket haul last week. Frans returned to wrap-up the innings and dismiss Hockerill for 116 in the 31st over.
