Playing away to Harlow 5th the juniors did us very proud. Harlow's 4 young ones vs Sawbo’s 7. Losing the toss again, Sawbo were inserted. Thomas MacDonald, after a scratchy start, dominated the innings but was supported all the way through - he finished on 87, a magnificent display. Sawbo were all out for 200 in the 29th over.
In reply Ciaran Byers and Ethan Drinkwater opened the bowling. Ciaran bowling quickly on his debut unnerved the opposition. Claiming two wickets in the first few moments of the game. Harlow then mounted a mini come back and at drinks needed 90 from there last 17 overs. A super second spell from Ethan, for almost no runs, gave the platform for Louis Shemwell and Matt Vaughan to pin the opposition back. Sammy Mirams then returned and tool 2 quick wickets to stop any chance of Harlow winning.
Everyone played a part today - all the bowlers Albert Page, Ciaran , Sammy, Matt , Ethan, Louis did their jobs. Player of the match was clearly Tommy - after scoring his first 50 in all cricket and a great achievement that it was in a senior league game. Let's hope it is the first of many.
